The Trinity

One God in three persons: the biblical foundations, the deity of the Son and the Spirit, and how the church learned to speak of the triune God.

The word Trinity is not in the Bible; it summarizes biblical teaching. Tertullian used trinitas around AD 200, and the councils of Nicaea (325) and Constantinople (381) formulated the creed.
